For years, two sisters had an ongoing joke about borrowing each other's clothes and accessories. The younger sister would borrow the older sister's items and never return them. She would then show up to events, sometimes years later, dressed in those very items. When approached by her older sister, she would simply laugh and say, "Possession is nine-tenths of the law."

In 2015, the younger sister decided to follow her passion for tailoring, creative design, and skincare, and 9Tenths LLC was born. Starting with nothing more than her mother's vintage, tiny blue Kenmore sewing machine, which she borrowed, she initially offered simple tailoring and alterations. Today, the brand has expanded far beyond its humble beginnings to offer custom graphic designs, bespoke T-shirts, apparel, and premium skin and hair care.
